NFC Key Fobs

These small (30mm square) key fobs contain a tiny NFC (Near Field Communication) chip with your custom business contact details. One side of the fob is etched with your business logo and the other side with a custom QR code linking to your social media, web site, contact details, etc. An alternative to business cards – just have your (potential) client scan either the QR code or the NFC info directly with their phone.

Dice Jail Vault

Are your dice not performing up to expectations? Too many sub-par rolls? Send the offending die for a rest in dice jail. This clear acrylic and walnut veneer dice vault has separate openings – one side to hold a complete set of 7 dice plus a few extra and a side for dice jail. Caps on both ends are held on securely with magnetic clasps.

Dice Vault/Tower

Getting back into dice vaults and towers – designed this fairly compact laser cut dice case which converts into a dice tower. This example is made from clear acrylic and walnut veneer plywood. In dice vault mode, it holds about two complete sets of dice.

Live Edge Cribbage Boards

Standard three handed 121 point cribbage boards made from live edge hardwoods. With inset magnet lid clasp peg storage. I received a number of charcuterie board ‘seconds’ as payment for another job I did. While maybe not up to standard for a charcuterie board, they make beautiful cribbage boards. The holes and peg storage were CNC milled. The peg storage lid was laser cut from 1/8in acrylic.

Contact / Payment Stand

Stand made for a local market vendor includes QR codes for social media and includes a spot for a Square POS device. I used magnets to mount the main sign to the base to allow flat packing of the stand. Aspen 1/4in base material, cherry veneer for the Square stand and maple veneer for the main sign. All laser cut and engraved.

Quilt Clock

This project was created for a quilting enthusiast friend. The beech wood base was designed using VCarve Desktop and carved out on an X-Carve CNC router. The clock face was designed in Lightburn and laser cut from coloured 1/8″ acrylic.

Market Display

EFT Farms

Market display sign for local vendor’s farmers market booths. The two part sign consists of a clear laser cut acrylic stand and a cherry veneer laser cut product tag with a small chalkboard area for the price. The design was done in Lightburn. The acrylic stand is approximately 6in tall and the small product tag attaches with velcro. One set of signs was made for PJ’s Meats (MarketOnTheMove.ca) and one set for EFT Farms.

To be able to make this product I built a small acrylic sheet bending tool using a PWM controller and part of the heating element from an old waffle iron. With every project I learn a bit more…

Dice Vault

Hexagonal three piece dice vault. The bottom and top are CNC routed from olive wood and have rare earth magnetic clasps. Laser cut leather and felt line the interior. The wood parts fit into an engraved leather dice arena.

Kobo Libra Case

Case for a Kobo Libra. Designed in Lightburn. The leather was laser cut and also laser etched with a unique design on the cover flap and personalized contact info under the flap (I edited out the details from the image). This was my first time working with leather on the laser. I was happy with the result – the stitching holes were well defined which made the assembly very easy.
