Guitar Cutting Board

I made this cutting board as a wedding gift for my nephew. I laminated the wood – maple for the guitar body, beech for the neck and cherry for the strings and then CNC routed the guitar shape.

Name Tags

I’ve made laser cut/etched names tags for various local businesses. I can incorporate your company logo and add other customizations such as unique shapes, employee name and title, etc to make them stand out. The examples below were made from bamboo plywood and cheery veneer plywood. I also have cedar, walnut and maple veneer plywood and two colour plastics – blue with white lettering, etc. A magnetic clasp is usually preferred.

Demo Sign

This project was just to demonstrate the sign making capabilities of my CNC router. The sign features a 3D inset carving of a maple leaf and script font lettering. The lettering is infilled with acrylic paint and then sanded off to sharpen the edges.

Tablet Stand

This is a three sided tablet stand made from scrap cardboard. Depending on the orientation you can have three different viewing angles for your table. Holds most phones and up to 12″ tablets.

Designed in Lightburn. Cut from 1/8in scrap cardboard and then glued together using craft glue. I made these a few years ago and several have been in constant use in our hose – they hold up surprisingly well. I have a few units available for sale and could make more if needed for about $5 each.

Office Clock

I designed this 12″ diameter clock to test out a number of different sign lettering techniques – V carve lettering, images, different fonts and raised letters mainly. Designed in VCarve Desktop and produced on my CNC router. The wood is 1/2in MDF which I first painted an off-white colour. I then applied a removable adhesive masking film, ran the CNC job and then painted the letters with the mask mostly still intact. The raised letters were carved out separately, painted and then glued in place.

Wine Corker Handle

This project was a request to make a new handle to replace the one on an existing table-top mounted wine corker. The wine corker was then sold at a fund-raising auction for the Culver Military Academy. The wood is oak. The design was done in VCarve Desktop and carved out on my XCarve CNC router. I made the design from emailed pictures so I was happy to see the final picture of it installed nicely on the wine corking machine.

Star Trek Hard-Drive Clock

The wood base for this clock was designed in VCarve Desktop and CNC routed from cherry wood. I made this one as a farewell gift for a dear co-worker who was a Star Trek enthusiast. I also made another one from pine for a departing CAF member. The cherry came from a tree cut down in the 1980s or so in Pakenham, Ontario. I’ve used the same wood in several other projects like other clocks, a jewelry box, etc. Still have some slabs left waiting for the right project…

Wireless BBQ Brush

This was one of my first real products made on my CNC router. Made from 1/2in cedar fence pickets. I customized them for various clients – these ones were made as a fundraiser for Rescue1ataTime a local animal rescue organization.

I think I made about 150 of these so far and I still have some around if anyone wants one.

Star Trek Drink Coasters

A set of four wooden drink coasters in beech. Designed in VCarve Desktop and made on my CNC router. For the non-trekkie, the coasters represent four of the occupation streams for Star Trek Starfleet personnel – Science, Engineering, Medical and Command.
